2007 SEASON REPORT

We would like to extend our thanks to all those businesses and individuals who have supported Douglas Racing and us personally through what has been a most enjoyable season.

The 2007 season has seen a massive step forward for Douglas Racing. The sidecar was transformed during the winter of 2006 from a plain black fibreglass livery to a stunning silver outfit, beautifully sign-written by Macsigns of Inverness, highlighting the season’s supporting businesses.

Kerr and Jen also had a transformation over the winter and came out in 2007 with matching Scott Leather suits and matching KBC helmets supplied by BRC-Gravelrash in Muir of Ord.

All went out on wets in drying conditions. Cleared in afternoon but declared wet racing. Gambled on slicks and it rained in lap 2. Lapped consistently and finished in one piece unlike the rest of the field. Gasket trouble changed engine. Sunday wet, perfect for running in.

Sunday cancelled due to heavy rain.
Results:5th, 6th

29/30 September Knockhill – Jock Taylor Meeting – Dry
Problem with gear selection and cold track catching everyone out. Engine rattle on Saturday so changed for spare before racing Sunday. Good standard of competition World, European and British Championship competitors entered. 59 sec/lap times recorded again.
Results:13th, 9t, 13th

Summary
In our second season we have experienced some close racing, wet racing and reduced our lap times considerably. With consistency the answer to getting results we finished 8th in the SACU Scottish Championship and 2nd in the Scottish Sidecar Club Championship in 2007. The sidecar will now undergo major changes again to accommodate GSXR 1000 K6 engines. This entails changing the engine mounting/cradle, wiring loom, airbox and fairing. With some assistance from BSD tuning we should have a very competitive set up for 2008.

Once again we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those businesses and individuals who have supported Douglas Racing and us personally through what has been a most enjoyable season. We hope to see you all next season.
